Cooking Class & Basket Boat Tour
You will be taken to the local market, where the guide will give you a comprehensive explanation of local Hoian ingredients for your cooking class. Then, join local fishermen on the river and experience the round net or cast net. Learn how to paddle the Vietnamese unique bamboo basket boat. Explore the tranquil coconut-palm flanked waterways of a past war and hear of the extreme conditions endured by soldiers of both sides.
After that, we will return to the restaurant. The chefs have prepared a 3-course cooking class of traditional Vietnamese dishes. They will demonstrate how to prepare them, and then it’s your turn-you prepare your own tasty Vietnamese lunch! We start with a Vietnam tea or mineral water to whet your appetite. You will learn how to cook crispy pork spring rolls, Hoi An pancakes ( Banh Xeo ), and Hoi An salad of papaya with shrimp. After the class, sit down and dine on your creations.
